Planning this trip was stressful for me. Abby chose Montana for the scenery but she doesn't actually like to go out and explore it. I knew that if I made the trip all about hiking and nature I would have at least 2 very unhappy teens for 10 days (which would have ruined the trip for everyone). So I tried to include things they would enjoy. The water park in Arizona was one. Abby and Lexi love to shop (I didn't realize how much) so the town of CDA was great for going in and out of shops and finding treasures. Caleb was dragged along for most of it. Day 3 was the highlight for all three kids. We rented one jet ski for 2 hours. We all took turns riding and driving. The son of the jet ski owner helped everyone get on and off and, when the teens were waiting to ride, he took them across the lake and showed them where to cliff jump.

The girls (Lexi) were so excited to see a Goodwill 5 minutes from the house so after jet skiing they walked over there. We went back to the lake in the afternoon to paddleboard but that didn't work out. We had fun just swimming and relaxing. That night we went back into town for dinner at Fire Pizza and then headed a few minutes away to check out Hayden Lake. They might be land-locked in Idaho and Montana but they make up for it in beautiful lakes.
